Due to the flexibility of our Fresnel plant, the system can be combined with conventional power plant technologies and even retro-fit existing capacities. This capability is crucial, especially during the gradual transition towards large-scale renewable and regenerative energy generation.
When combined with a conventional plant, the Fresnel module can fulfill two principle functions: it can increase the total output of the hybrid plant, or it can alternatively perform as a fuel saver. Especially the latter application is highly attractive for retrofitting. Instead of generating process steam by burning fossil feedstock alone, the Fresnel plant can either preheat the medium or even generate steam in order to save fuel.
Retrofitting and hybridization lower energy generation costs and reduce CO2 emissions of conventional energy generation in the short and midterm phase of the energy transition.
